The resonance Raman spectra of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) films that are DC electrodeposited from their dispersion solutions show peaks belonging to semiconducting tubes, but all peaks due to metallic tubes are diminished significantly, despite the fact that the dispersion contains both semiconducting and metallic tubes. Consistent results are obtained with different SWCNT sources, substrate materials, and laser wavelengths used for Raman spectroscopy. Electrical measurements indicate that the surface resistivity of the electrodeposited film is several orders of magnitude higher than that of a cast film of the dispersion solution.
