A buffer system is one of the essential techniques for the realization of all-optical packet switching. In this paper, we propose and demonstrate an all-optical wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) buffer which is a single loop type consisting of a nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) and a feedback loop. The proposed structure provides more than 40 turns of buffering for a single input pulse (1550 nm, width: 20 ns) and shows suitable output when extracted by an optical control pulse (1553 nm, width: 30 ns).
