A 72-year-old man had been treated with oral prednisolone 15mg/day for idiopathic interstitial pneumonia for 3 years. He had a 1-month history of plaque psoriasis, and suddenly developed pustules and erythema. Within 1 week, the pustules spread over his entire body, and he developed a high fever. A diagnosis of generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) was made. After administration of oral etretinate, pustules, erythema, and fever disappeared. However, a few pustules appeared several times on his body without evidence of systemic diseases. After we performed narrow band ultraviolet B phototherapy, erythema and pustules cleared. We had to evaluate various factors associated with GPP, including oral corticosteroids, in this case.Skin Research, 11: 82-86, 2012
