Seed soaking in 0, 0.0001, 0.01, 0.1 and 1 ppm epi-brassinolide for 20 hours promoted the shoot growth of seedlings but had an adverse effect on root development especially at higher concentrations. Foliar spray applications along with 100 tween-20 promoted both shoot and root growth. In general the magnitude of the promotion of growth was longer at lower concentrations, 0.000001 to 0.01 ppm, as compared with 1 ppm. Significant increase in nodule development was observed in 0.01 ppm foliar spray. Folliar spray of epi-brassinolide at lower concentrations enhanced shoot growth, increased the number of productive branches, promoted pod maturity, increased yield per pod, seed tests weight and yield per plant. In general, l ppm foliar spray reduced yield ; while lower concentrations i. e. 0.000001 to 0.01 ppm increased the yield components in green gram. Foliar spray application at concentrations ranging from 0.0001 to 0.01 ppm is recommended for the increase of green gram production.
