Immunohistochemical examination revealed that the antigen was present mainly in the hair cells of the organ of Corti, spiral ligament, spiral ganglion cells as well as hair cells of the vestibular organs by intraperitoneal administration of the drug. Methamphetamine concentration in serum as well as the threshold of Pinna reflex was also measured at 30, 60, 120, 240 and 480 minutes after administration of the drug. The drug concentration in serum elevated rapidly and the Pinna reflex was most sensitive at 30 and 60 minutes after the administration. These findings suggest that the threshold of Pinna reflex may be decreased by this drug in the peripheral auditory system.
