Authors had reported that the secondary degeneration of auditory sensory cells due to KM was coming into the nerve bundle of cochlear nerve near the portion of Glial-Schwann's junction, after breeding for 6 months. In this study, nine guinea pigs were treated with injection of KM 200/mg daily, until disappearance of ABR. After sacrificed, the thin specimens of auditory nerve were obtained and were photographed by microscope. These pictures were used for counting nerve fibers with the image analyzer (LUZEX 500, Toyo Inc.). As the results, the numbers of auditory nerve were summarized in Table 1. The degeneration of nerves due to KM was occupied about 25%, after disappearance of ABR on 20KHz-10KHz.
