We established a scale of activities of daily living (ADL) for patients with stroke. Each area of functioning was scored according to this scale. Total score of this ADL scale correlated highly with the total score of functional independence Measure (FIM). The patients discharged to home had higher ADL score than those discharged to nursing home.
