Aorta-coronary saphenous vein bypass was examined for early (averaging 33 days postoperatively) and late (averaging 30.5 months postoperatively) patency rates and for local and general obliteration factors.Subjects and Methodes: On 72 cases of great saphenous vein bypass (210 grafts), selective bypass angiography was performed at early and late periods to examine the patency. Anastomosed branch region and intra-operative bypass blood flow taken up as local obliteration factors and arteriosclerosis-risk factors taken up as general obliteration factor were examined comparatively between the obliteration group and the patent group. Results and Conclusions: Early and late bypass angiography rate and patency rates were 82.4 and 48.1% and 93.6 and 92.0%, respectively. Of all angiographics, bypass obliteration was noted for 15 grafts, 11 (73.3%) of which were early obliteration. 1) Local factors: a) The first diagonal branch, the second obtuse marginal branch and posterior descending branch showed significantly high obliteration rates, b) No significant difference in bypass blood flow was noted. 2) Arteriosclerosis risk factors other than hypertension were not significant as general factors.
