• The authors have analyzed the pigments of cocoon in Theophila mandarin MOORE by colour reaction, paper-chromatography and absorption spectrum, and made clear that the cocoon layer contains 3 carotenoids, one of them is similar to one of the yellow cocoon pigments in Bombyx mori (var. kojiki) and 9 flavonoids which are identical with those of the green cocoon in Bombyx mori.
