A 56-year-old male patient of adenocarcinoma of the lung was reported in this paper. The adenocarcinoma cells with several osmiophilic lamellar structures in their cytoplasm were similar to type II alveolar cells of the lung. Adenocarcinoma cells obtained from scraping cytology occasionally had nuclear inclusion bodies. The inclusion body sized 2.5 μm to 10.0μm in diameter showed oval or irregular shape with central core. The central core of the inclusion body was consisted of many fine tubules electron microscopically. These cytological findings differed from intracytoplasmic invagination often found in the cancer cells of thyroid cancer or Clara cell carcinoma of the lung.
