R1-mice, which were born from pregnant mice (R-P) irradiated with 60CO 300R were inoculated with leprosy bacilli into the testis.Recently, the author reported that the skin homograf t survival duration in 60C0irradiated mice (R-P) was shown to be longer than the duration in the R1-F mice (2). The acid-fast bacilli, the so-called globi, were often found at the inoculated site of R-P mice, but not in the R1-F mice. The R1-F females bred with normal males and the R2-F females bred with normal males were both irradiated with 60C0 300R, and the R2-F male offspring from this R1-F and the R3-F male offspring from this R2-F showed the same increase in sensitivity to leprosy bacilli as the R-P generation. Acid-fast bacilli (globi, +G) were also found in the testes of the R2-F and R3-F males (Table 1).IR-F mice which had received 131I-Na 100 μci injections and also 60CO 300 R irradiations during their fetus-term, showed few increase in sensitivity to infection of leprosy bacilli.
