Factors which influence the evaluation of anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activities of sanitized clothes were investigated. The experiments were carried out using St. aureus 209-P and E. colt which were usually employed in anti-bacterial activity tests. We have obtained the results shown in nine figures which are summarized as follows :
1. Anti-bacterial activities of sanitized clothes are variable according to the kind of bacteria isolated from skin. Among the test bacteria the activity of St. aureus 209-P is comparatively weak.
2. The factors such as the density of cultured bacteria, length and temperature of culture, components of culture medium, its amount, mixing of bacteria and medium, and the methods of applying bacteria give different influences on the evaluation of anti-bacterial activities of sanitized clothes.
3. There is practically no difference in the bacterial activities in the range of pH from 6.0 to, 8.0. Three kinds of suspension, which are sterilized distilled water, sterilized physiological salt solution and sterilized water with Rapizol, show no different influences on anti-bacterial activities, of sanitized clothes.
