Study on steel plate drilling with electro-chemical-discharge machining (ECDM) is carried out experimentally by a machine employed for the experiment with a single phase full-wave rectified 100Hz generator. Electrolyte of NaCl or NaNO3 20% water solution is fed through a hole of graphite electrode by an air pressure of 10kgf/cm2. Concluding from the results obtained ECDM can drill a hole with high feed speed of 10-80mm/min. In ECDM electrochemical removal proceeds with extremly high current density and to it electrodischarge removal of high speed EDM is added, consequently ECDM has higher feed speed than that of mere ECM or EDM.
