Experiments on longitudinal mixing characteristics of liquid-liquid spray column were carried out by the rectangular pulse response method using 0.2N KCl solution as tracer, changing the orifice numbers and sizes of the distributor. Water and toluene were selected for continuous and dispersed phase, respectively. The dispersion model was found to express well the longitudinal mixing of the continuous phase. The dispersion coefficient <I>E</I> was correlated as a function of orifice diameter and slip velocity between dispersed and continuous phase.
