It was elucidated whether or not oral cytology could be employed as a substitute of Vaginal smear for estimating estrogen level in women. For this purpose, oral and vaginal smear were simultaneously collected from 614 females. And estrogen level was asumed by measuring the occurrence rate of superficial keratotic cells amongs squamous cells observed in both kinds of the smears per each person. Corelations between the results of oral and vaginal cytology were confirmed by statistical calculations. Correlative indexes female, 0.59 & 0.63 in female during and after delivery and 0.47 in female after abortion. From these results it was concluded that vaginal cytology could be fairly replaced by oralcytology for estimating estrogen level in females, though their correlative indexes somewhat varied with different conditions described above.
