Analysis of injury accidents under school supervision

In this study, we reviewed literature concerning injury accidents under school supervision to clarify preventive measures at schools. Results we re as follows. 1. Numbers of in jury accidents decreased progressively during 17 years from 1989 to 2005. The decrease would be resulting from measures carried out at schools against accidents. However, serious accidents did not decrease in numbers. Schools should take new measures against serious accidents. 2. A lot of injury accidents occurred in the high schools, next the junior high schools an d the elementary schools. Numbers of accidents among boys were three times as many as those among girls. 3.44.7% of injuries were dental injuries,56.8% of which corresponded to grade 14 of handicaps. 4.72.0% of handicaps from grade 1 to 7 were troubles concerning nerve or mind. In conclusion, preventive measures against injuries should be made taking different method according to school classes and educational activities into consideration. These results suggest that support of family are important for their children who have severe handicaps.
