A simple panoramic mass spectrometer has been constructed for the analysis of small gas samples employing 60°deflection analyser tube in a permanentmagnetic field, a standard electoron bombardment type ion source, oscillating accelerating voltage, a. c. amplifiers, and oscilloscope.This mass spectrometer, when used with small sample reservoir with a special device and a rapid scan, will enable to analyse gas samples of about 10<SUP>-6</SUP>ml NTP, without isolating the analyser tube from the exhaust system, that is, by the usual dynamic method
