In the 39th International Contest of the?gMiyasama?hSki Convention, the performanceof selected players for the Olympic games, ordinary players, and foreignchampions during the game were photographed with Nicon-Super-Zoom 8 from the lateral direction for form analysis. In selected players for the Olympics and ordinary players, the action during training was photographed with a Sony videotape recorder for comparative analysis. The following results were obtained in essence . 1. The form of selected players was not much different from that of ordinary players during games and training. 2. Both the selected players and ordinary players exhibited a difference between their competition and their training techniques . The form during competition was inferior to that during training. 3. While scarcely any difference was noted between foreign champions on one hand and selected and ordinary players during training on the other, anterior sl, anting was more notable in foreign champions. 4. The form of selected and ordinary players during traing was similar to that of foreign champions, exhibiting a rational form. 5. It appears desirable to guide Japanese champions to maitain their form during training right through competition.
