The purpose of this paper is to consider the future of the JOURNAL OF SAITAMA MEDICAL SCHOOL.The first survey is about how oral report is submitted after the forth meeting held by the Society of Saitama Medical School in November 1977.The second survey about whether the medical journals published by the member library of Japan Medical Library Association is included in foreign major abstract and index journals, and about the layout of these journals.Conclusions are: (1) 16% of the information reported at the meeting was published within 1 year, 47% are writing a paper now, 27% abondon writing, (2) Excerpta Medica includes 48% of member journals, Index Medicus includes 17%, and Science Citation Index includes 4%, (3) Most of them are equipped with English title, English abstract, and received date, but few are equipped with key word, legent, and address in English.
