• Tetrabutylammonium salts of 12-heteropolytungstates with central transition metal ions in a tetrahedral oxygen environment, MW<SUB>12</SUB>O<SUB>40</SUB> (M=Cu<SUP>II</SUP>, Fe<SUP>III</SUP>, Co<SUP>II</SUP>), have been prepared and their spectroscopic data (infrared (IR), near-infrared, UV-vis, and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD)) presented.
