Four new alkylnickel(II)–phosphine complexes, NiR<SUB>2</SUB>(PR′<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB> (R=CH<SUB>3</SUB>, C<SUB>2</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>; PR′<SUB>3</SUB>=triethylphosphine (PEt<SUB>3</SUB>), tributylphosphine (PBu<SUB>3</SUB>), 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane(dpe)) and Ni(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)(acac)(PEtPh<SUB>2</SUB>) (PEtPh<SUB>2</SUB>=ethyldiphenylphosphine), have been prepared by reactions of Ni(acac)<SUB>2</SUB> with AlR<SUB>2</SUB>(OC<SUB>2</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>) in the presence of phosphine ligands.
