<I>trans</I>-γ-Irone was successfully synthesized starting from 3,4-dimethyl-2-cyclohexenone by sevenstep reactions including TiCl<SUB>4</SUB>-promoted reaction of enol silyl ether and cross-aldol reaction of vinyloxyborane.
