Regio- and stereoselective alkylation in the course of aldol condensation under liquid-solid phasetransfer catalytic conditions, affording conjugated dienyl ether (<B>5</B>) or α-substituted β,γ-olefinic aldehyde (<B>7</B>) depending on the starting halides, both in good yields, was disclosed. The reaction mechanism is also discussed.
