Particle size of the metal catalysts controlled the stereoselectivity in the hydrogenation of methylenecyclohexanes. No effect of particle size, on the contrary, was observed in the hydrogenation of substituted 3-methylenetetrahydropyran and 5-methylene-1,3-dioxane which contain oxygen atom/atoms in the molecule.
