The <SUP>13</SUP>C NMR spectra of thirteen methyl substituted 1,3-dioxolanes were measured. The carbon chemical shifts of the methyl groups imply that the 1,3-transannular nonbonded interaction of the methyl groups is negligible, except in the cases of 2,2,4-trimethyl- and 2,2,4,5-tetramethyl-1,3-dioxolanes.
