Insolubilization of water-soluble synthetic poly(Lys Tyr) was examined using tyrosinase in water and simulated seawater systems. Tyrosinase oxidized tyrosine aromatic nuclei, causing intermolecular crosslinking reactions. The salinity, system pH and α-chymotrypsin are considered to play roles in the insolubilizing reaction.
