The Raman spectra of the phenothiazine crystal were measured at high pressures up to 20 kbar in a diamond-anvil cell (DAC) at several temperatures. A pressure-induced phase transition was found to occur at 2.2 kbar and 297 K. The high-pressure phase was shown to be the same as the low-temperature ferroelastic phase previously found at atmospheric pressure. The wavenumber of the fluorescence band R1 of ruby, used as the pressure monitor in DAC, was precisely measured to obtain its temperature dependence in the temperature region where the present Raman measurements were carried out.
