The <I>n</I>-π<SUP>*</SUP> vapour emission spectrum of <I>o</I>-methoxybenzaldehyde has been excited in transformer discharge in flowing vapours of benzene and the substance. In the spectrum the C=O stretching frequency is the most prominent and its found to form progression of bands. The entire spectrum has been analyzed in terms of several ground state frequencies.
