We have studied the motion of a single charged particle in an axially-symmetric magnetic field with a neutral point. Treating the canonical angular momentum as a constant of motion we have reduced the motion to a two-dimensional one by introducing an effective potential and have classified "off-axis", "encircling" and "hybrid" motions. Further, we have analytically studied the guiding centre of the particle. We find that it sticks to the leading magnetic lines of force and does not cross the Stormer boundaries. The numerical computation of complete equations confirms our theory. However, the magnetic moment remains moderately adiabatic.
