The ESR spectra of Michler's ketone anion radicals reduced by alkali metal in solution consist of five groups of lines at +20 °C, but change into three groups of lines at −50 °C. The assigned hyperfine splitting constants are <I>A</I><SUB>H</SUB><I><SUP>o</SUP></I>=3.22, <I>A</I><SUB>H</SUB><I><SUP>m</SUP></I>=0.43, <I>A</I><SUB>N</SUB>=0.72, <I>A</I><SUB>H</SUB><SUP>CH<SUB>3</SUB></SUP>=0.29 gauss at +20 °C.
