The scheme of the radiation-induced dehalogenation of dichloromethane and dibromomethane was investigated in deaerated methanol. The relative rate constants of those solutes toward e<SUB>sol</SUB><SUP>−</SUP> were determined by competition kinetics, using a N<SUB>2</SUB>O scavenger.
