• 4,6,10,l0-Tetramethyltricyclo[4.4.0.0<SUP>1,3</SUP>undec-4-ene-5-carboxylic acid has been converted to a tricyclic γ-butyrolactone by perchloric acid catalyzed isomerization. Acetalization of the ketocarboxylic acid afforded an acetal derivative of γ-butyrolactone.
