Steroid binding with serum protein, transport into tissues, metabolisum in the liver and excretion in urine were investigated using c14-labeled cortisol and paramethasone. The following results were obtained : <BR>1) As compared with natural steroids, paramethasone has a relatively lower binding capacity with plasma protein, but is transported into animal tissues at a higher rate.<BR>2) Only a relatively small amount of paramethasone is metabolized in the liver ; so, their formation and the excretion of paramethasone metabolites are observed in a smaller quantity than those of natural steroids. It is, therefore, considered that paramethasone remains a long time in active form in the body.
