Design of a compact size UWB planar antenna with WiMAX band rejection

A compact monopole ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with WiMAX band rejection is proposed. The proposed antenna is optimized to be 12×18mm2 in size and cover the frequency band from 3.1 to 11GHz with rejection of the WiMAX band. The antenna is simulated, fabricated, and tested; the measured results show good agreement with the simulation results. The proposed antenna presents satisfactory radiation characteristics.
