From the points of view of the relation of hypothalamus to the pituitary-thyroid tumor of the rats according to the hypothalamic factors. The results obtained are as follow:<BR>1) Humoral factor (TRF), which is contained in the hypothalamic and has effective force in increasing the pituitary-thyroidal function, excreated in the urine. Thyroidal weight increased and concentration of PBI augmentated following to the continued injection of TRF intramuscularly or intravenously.<BR>2) Pituitary-thyroid function was inhibited by the shortterm injection of estradiol, in contrast with the stimulating effects of the long-term injection. Estradiol increased the pituitary weights of the rats and made hypertrophy of the pituitary. The effect of estradiol was accelerated in the castrated rats. This seems to be due to the increasing function of ACTH-adrenal system. Inhibitory effects of estradiol to the thyroid function.<BR>MTU Stimulated the pituitary-thyroidal function, mediated by the secretion of TRF and/or directly influencing to the thyroidal gland. Increasing effects of MTU to the thyroidal weights was remarkable in the animals with adrenalectomy, plus MTU, next to the animals with adrenalectomy plus castration plus MTU, and Castration plus MTU followed. Namely, adrenal and gonadal glands acted with inhibiting the increased of the thyroidal weight of the rats by the administration of MTU.<BR>4) Histologicaly, I have examined that the alphacell of the pituitary is related to the increasing effects of estradiol to the pituitary weights and neurosecretory system of the hypothalamus is related to the TSH secretion by MTU.
