studies were performed on the change of physical signs with special regards to ariboflavinosis, amount of riboflavin in urine and the level and electrophoretic analysis of serum protein, in the group of rats fed by low, regular and high protein contained riboflavin deficient diet.
1. In a group of rats on riboflavin deficient diet, especially on low protein diet group, the increasing rate of the body weight were remarkably diminished as compared with those of normal control.
2. Physical signs of ariboflavinosis were seen remarkably on low protein diet group.
3. Amount of total riboflavin excretion in urine started to decrease on the second day of experiment, and reached to lowest level on the 18th day. The group fed by low protein diet showed highest rate of riboflavin excretion among these three different groups.
4. The amount of 40 γ or 200 γ of riboflavin were administered daily into the rats with ariboflavinosis and obtained improved effect on the physical signs. However, no difference was seen by the dosis given.
5. The amount of total protein and albumin in the sera showed corresponding value to the casein level in the diet.
