放射線腎臓障害の実験的研究

Renal damages were examined up to 3 months following irradiation administered on one kidney with dose of 1000R or 3000R in dog.<BR>Renogram, scintigram as well as histological findings were evuluted in this experiment. Latex particles, several micron in diametr, were injected to obliterate the renal capillaries anywhere at the narrow point in caliber. It was expected that blood supply was to decrease distal to this point and that radiation induced narrowing of capillary owing to edema or fibrosis migt be detectable.<BR>As the results, though early renal damage was difficult to detect, scintigram provided some informations of renal disturbance as early as seveal days of irradiation.<BR>Because of the progressive changes of intersitium and of capillary in sequential histological findings in relatively low dose level, the parenchymal damage might well be said secondary to them. Therefore, we were in opinion that the kidney was never radio-resistant organ in treatment of patient.
