In the northern, eastern and central Hokkaido and near Sapporo, 35 male and 23 female Daubenton's bats, Myotis daubentoni (KUHL, 1819) were captured, and constitute new records. Sexual differences and geographic variations in the external and skull dimensions were examined in these specimens; further, the dimensions of the bats from Hokkaido were compared with those of the Eastern Daubenton's bats, M. d. ussuriensis OGNEV, 1927 from areas near Japan. No sexual difference was recognized in the Hokkaido's bats, but there were geographic variations in the length dimensions of skull and the height of brain-case between the regional populations. No significant difference was found between the Hokkaido's bats and those from neighbouring regions in all of the dimensions except the height of brain-case. Thus, the Hokkaido's bats concerned were identified as M. d. ussuriensis.
