Seventeen cases of subacute or chronic injuries of the cervical spine or the spinal cord treated in our clinic during the last 5 years were analized. Fifteen cases were males and 2 females aged from 18 to 77 years.Out of 17 cases, 3 were fractures of the upper cervical spine, 5 were fractures of the lower cervical spine with cord injury and the remaning 9 were spinal cord lesions without fracture detected by x-ray.The operative treatments were carried out for 5 cases, being 4 anterior fusion and one posterior. Although the operations did not improved the clinical symptoms, rehabilitation programs could be early started.
