Recently, we have treated a case of DIC successfully after hip disarticulation. A 78-year-old woman was admitted to our clinic with pyogenic arthritis of the right knee joint and intractable ulcer on the right thigh after several intraarticular injections of glucocorticoid solution. Her general condition became serious because sepsis and hypoproteinemia developed. Then disarticulation was taken, and a severe bleeding tendency appeared postoperatively with the positive laboratory findings of DIC. The patient was recovered from bleeding tendency two weeks later with a large dosis of heparin administration.
