The main current method for internal fixation of pertrochanteric fractures is compression hip screwing (CHS). Contrary to rigid physical fixation with CHS, complications have recently been reported, which are thought to be due to breakdown of the biomechanical pattern of the proximal femur.The author emphasizes that in these high geriarthritic plays efforts should be made for achieving biomechanical fixation of the pertrochanteric fracture with a small surgical intervention.
