(1) The principle is to project the hairs of a running yarn on a screen vertical to the yarn axis, and measure the value of the hairs photometrically.<BR>By using circular slits on the screen, the quantity and the length of hairs can be measured very easily and accurately.<BR>(2) Measuring equipment has been built and some factors which effect measured results have been looked into.<BR>This equipment is capable of picking up each l-mm-long hair fully.
