• The author said in part 1 that, in the ordinary carding process, the carding action of the flat might be done between flats No. 1 and No. 12 or 13, and that it might be helpful to change the condition of the fiber assembly on the cylinder in case of 2-flat carding.<BR>The author has now devised a new-type carding engine complete with 2 flats grouped together, a small doffing roller and a small taker-in roller between the flats. Experiments have shown that this carding engine produces good-quality card-slivers and also shows the typical phenomenon shown by the ordinary carding engine when card slivers are fed.
