Chordlike skip of yarn on the wall of a pot is one of the most important troubles for potspinning. The present paper is to discuss the form of this chordlike skip theoretically as well as experimentally. As the results of this investigation the following items are shown : <BR>(1) If the resistance of air is neglisible, the forms of chordlike skips are independent of the angular velocity of the pot and of the linear density of the yarn. They can be expressed by a series of curves, which contains the only parameter n. (See fig. 4)<BR>(2) The angular extensiono f a chordlike skip falls between 180° and 210° regardless of its kind.
