We want to analyse the effect of yarn intersections on the tensile strength of viscose rayon plain fabric through the tensile test of the fabric in which the fillings are all removed.<BR>The fabric tensile strength was found .to be : FF =α · FY or FF = (1 ±β+γ FSR/ FY) FY, where β=stiffness factor, γ =resistance factor, and in this experiment, FF= (1±0.0808+ 0.0266FSR/FY)FY.<BR>The following results were obtained : (1) The relationship between a and RH (relative humidity) was found to be linear. Therefore, when α=1, RH is about 65%, consequently FF= FY and FEI = FDR. (2) The relationship between _??_ FEI _??_ and RH was also found to be linear. (3) The relationship between FDR and RH was seemed to increase rapidly with higher RH, to reach a maximum at about 70% RH, and to decrease rapidly beyond the maximum value.
