In the previous paper the authors analyzed the generalized belt tension formulae which should be applied to the cases when one of the yarn and the cylinder moves. Now, a more general case when both yarn and cylinder move has to be analyzed.<BR>Starting from the equations of equilibrium of an infinitesimal element of the running yarn, the general formulae for the ratio of tensions acting on the yarn running in and running out is derived.<BR>The results are also so complicated and tiresome to calculate that they are simplified under the assumptions that the centrifugal force acting on the yarn is small in comparison with the yarn tension, and that the ratio of the yarn speed to the surface speed of the cylinder is small. Numerical calculations are performed, and some of the results are shown in the form of diagrams for the case when the cylinder moves in the direction of its axis.
