The author has experimentall investigated the relation between output and degree (P0) of porosity of a treated wool assembly on a spooner-type drying machine.<BR>In constant-weight feeding, the output is almost uniform if the degree of porosity is kept within 95-98%; the output is extremely large if the degree is 99%. The output is very small at low temperature and low velocity of air current, even if the degree of porosity is kept very large.<BR>The author has also investigated the relation between output and porosity degree in constantvolume feeding and obtained the following results : If a wool assembly piled in a thin (slender) height, the output is always small for every degree of porosity.<BR>If a wool assembly is opened to the maximum limit of porosity of 99% and piled up in a height equalling the total height of drying chamber and then dried, an extremely large output can be obtained.
