The transient response of a positive warp let-off mechanism has been studied in order to improve the performance of the mechanism of a power loom.<BR> The following conclusions were obtained from numerical calculations on the mechanism of a typical power loom:<BR> The transient response is affected, in the following order of the degree of effect, by the arm of the moment of total warp tension ; by the stiffness of the total warps ; and by the moment of inertia of the weight lever.<BR> The transient response is hardly affected by the change of the ratio of the control elements, l ⁄ <SUB>r0_??_</SUB> within 0.75 to 1.25.
