• Purpose of Research<BR>By changing the centation time, the curbon content of the ring surface was changed successively to 0.55, 0.70, 0.90% and some experiments were made to find the effect of the carbon content on the friction and wear of rings and travellers, as well as on the coefficient of friction between them. The results have shown that the carbon content of the ring surface has no remarksble effect on the wear of rings and travellers, or on the coefficient of friction between them.
