An anti-tuberculosis campaign comprising the BCG vaccination of children under 15 years of age and case-finding of adult population was carried out in the Syanja District of Nepal under the: bilateral cooperation of the National Tuberculosis Control Project i Nepal and the Colombo Plan Experts from the Government of Japan.<BR>In this programme, the Door-to-Door Visit Method was adopted and cases in which pulmo nary tuberculosis was suspected were screened by an interview concerning their chest symptoms. A case of pulmonary tuberculosis was defined as one manifesting a positive sputum on smear.<BR>The entire Syanja District was covered by 3, 125 man-day of field work expanded for over 9 months. A total of 137 sputum-positive cases were detected.<BR>This report describes on details of the results, manpower and expense of the campaign, and the efficiency of the method employeed.
